Recognising Responsibility - Paediatric First Aid Becomes Level 3
Did you know that following a national review, both the Level 2 Award in Paediatric First Aid and the Level 2 Award in Paediatric Emergency First Aid will be replaced with Level 3 qualifications on 1st September 2014? This decision has been made to reflect the high level of responsibility required for such a role and also brings the qualifications in line with the Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work. Please also be assured that the new qualifications will be fully in line with the Department for Education’s EYFS Framework.
Those who work with or look after children, our Paediatric first aid courses will give you the confidence and knowledge to cope with an emergency. Every year, about 500,000 children under the age of five go to hospital because of an accident at home. (Click on the link below for more information.)
We offer training courses which can take place at your premises or at one of our training venues, we also run open courses and places on these courses can be booked individually. These courses are for anyone who wishes to improve their knowledge in first aid and the emergency treatment of a child.

Nannies, Child Carers, Au Pairs, Teachers,Nursery Staff,Parents and Grandparents- If you are working in an early years setting, or if you are a nanny or Au pair looking after babies/infants or young children you will need to have a valid paediatric first aid certificate. This certificate needs to cover the essentials of baby/infant and child first aid.
Level Two Award in Paediatric First Aid (2 day)
This course is designed to meet the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and meets Ofsted requirements. This qualification is based on the Ofsted guidelines for people who work with, or look after children to enable them to have a good basic knowledge of how to deal with emergency first aid situations involving children.
Anaphylaxis
The course is for any person interested in learning about anaphylaxis and its emergency management. It is ideal for those that support or work with children such as school/Pre-school staff, nursery staff, nannies, Au-pairs and parents or those who may support an child with anaphylaxis or those that have the potential to suffer from such an emergency.
Paediatric Basic Life Support
This is intended to give participants the necessary skills to initially manage a paediatric patient emergency and/or cardiac arrest. Competency at paediatric basic life support is through a continuous assessment process. This course counts as 1 hours verifiable CPD.

We are very flexible, and want to meet your needs and therefore offer training at a time to suit you including Saturdays if required. All of our instructors are fully qualified and insured to teach in all sectors. We are a Approved Paediatric First Aid Provider with Central Bedfordshire Council. As a provider we meet the requirements set out in the Practice Guidance for Early Years Foundation Stage and have therefore received local authority approval as stipulated by the EYFS Statutory Framework.
