Qualification Overview 

This course is based on the Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines and will allow the candidate to improve their skills, knowledge and confidence. This short course covers the essential skills needed to resuscitate someone who has collapsed. 
This course is combined with our Automated External Defibrillation (AED) course in order to provide skills and knowledge for those with access to an AED in their workplace or feel more confident to use a public assess AED. 
 
Intended Audience 
With less that 10% of the general public having the skills and knowledge to provide effective life saving treatment, this course is aimed at anyone wishing to become competent and confident in Cardio Pulmonary Resucitation/ Basic Life Support (CRP/BLS). With more access to AEDs in the community and work place the skills provided in this course will ensure candidates gain confidence in how to approach and use equipement available in order to potentially save a life in the event of collapse/cardiac arrest.  
 
Aim of Qualification 
This course also covers all resuscitation skills required for medical staffs annual mandatory training in order for safe practice and CQC/governing bodies requirements. This course is intended to give participants the necessary skills to initially manage both an adult and peadiatric patient emergency and/or cardiac arrest through basic life support and the safe use of an AED. This course is often combined with our Anaphalaxis and Oxygen training courses. 
 
Completion 
A certificate of attendance will be given on completion of the course which is valid for 1 year. 
 
First Aid Interventions use the very latest medical training aids and the minimum clinical grade tutor will be a HCPC registered qualified Paramedic/Instructor.
