Qualification Overview 

This one-day HSE accepted course is ideal for most workplace first aiders or anyone who requires a comprehensive one day course. Certificates are valid for 3 years with a ½ day annual refresher course is strongly recommended. 
This qualification is based on the HSE training standard for delivery of First Aid at Work courses for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981. 
Credit Value= 1 unit (QCF) 
Aim of Qualification 
The aim of the qualification is to enable learners to attain the knowledge and competencies needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations. 
Intended Audience 
This 1 Day approved course is for people who are required to act as an Emergency First Aider at Work. Participants will learn the skills required in managing an emergency situation effectively with the aim of preventing situations from becoming worse and maintaining life until help arrives. 
This course is recommended for persons in low-risk and smaller workplaces, where a nominated person is required to take charge in the event of illness or accident and for larger organisations where fully qualified First Aiders can benefit from extra support. 
Many private individuals also book on to this course as it is an excellent introduction to first aid for the general public. 
Assessment is on-going throughout the course by the trainer, along with a short MCQ paper & practical assessments. 
This QA Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work is valid for a period of 3 years. On successful completion of the course, participants will receive a First Aid Interventions QA Approved Certificate which meets the requirements of the HSE.
