Qualification Overview 

Aim of Qualification 
This is intended to give participants the necessary skills to initially manage a paediatric patient emergency and/or cardiac arrest. Competency at paediatric basic life support is through a continuous assessment process. 
 
Intended Audience 
The course is for any person interested in learning about Paediatric Basic Life Support and its emergency management. It is ideal for those that support or work with children such as school/Pre-school staff, nursery staff, Nannies, Au-pairs and parents or baby sitters. 
This course teaches the essential skills to identify and treat a Paediatric emergency and can be part of any mandatory CPD training that needs to be completed. 
 
Completion 
A certificate of attendance will be given on completion of the course which is valid for 1 year, verifiable CPD. First Aid Interventions use the latest medical training aids and the minimum clinical grade tutor will be a HCPC qualified registered Paramedic instructor.

Duration: 1 Hour 
Overview of the causes of cardio-respiratory arrest in children 
Danger to the rescuer 
Recognition & management of cardiac arrest 
Recognition & management of the choking child Resuscitation equipment 
Combine anaphylaxis, meningitis? Duration 2 hours
