Qualification Overview 

Paediatric Immediate Life Support course is suitable for all healthcare and allied health professionals from hospital, community, mental health, and dentistry settings. 
This Paediatric ILS course follows the learning outcomes and guidelines set by the Resuscitation council, however, is not accredited by the Resus Council UK. We cater specifically to our trusts needs and adapt the program scenarios to make this as relevent to your area as possible using relevent scenarios for your place of work. (ie Mental Health, Dental, General Practice relevent scenarios). 
Our course tutors are RCUK instructors and HCPC registered paramedics. 
Teaching will be provided though a mixture of lecture and practical scenario-based stations. 
Certificate is valid for 1 year and our course will provide the candidiate with 6 hours CPD aligned with the Skills for Health framework. 
Candidates will be certified for attendance only and certificate does not certify competency post course.

The key content is as follows
Recognition and management of a deteriorating Paediatric using A-E approach, 
• Demonstrate knowledge and competently demonstrate use in simple basic airway management using airway adjuncts after familiarization and demonstration. 
• Demonstrate Paediatric cardiac arrest recognition and management after demonstration. 
• Recognise and treat a choking child & Infant after demonstration. 
• Demonstrate use of an Automated external defibrillator. 
• Demonstrate recognition and appropriate treatment of common medical emergencies through scenario-based simulations.

I am able to offer my services as a qualified Resuscitation Council (UK) Instructor. I have extensive hours worth of experience and have instructed on many PILS courses during my role as a resuscitation officer. Additionally I am a qualified clinical skills tutor and paramedic, providing me with invaluable knowledge and skills to assist in the teaching of this course. Further details of experience can be forwarded upon request. 
 
Peadiatric Immediate Life Support Course (RCUK accredited course) 
Unfortunately we don't provide this accredited course through First Aid Interventions and would advise your to contact your local hospital training team to discuss attending an Accredited Resuscitation Council (UK) Course.

Should you require a bespoke Peadiatric or Adult Immediate Life Support style course which would cover the main structure of the Resuscitation Councils course but be adapted and bespoke to your particular area of expertise, this is something I am able to provide.

The maximum number of candidates for this course is 6 students per instructor however we have an additional trainer, Mark Daniel. This trainer is a HCPC registered paramedic and RCUK instructor with many years experience.
